The Town of Siena
Siena, one of the most charming cities in Tuscany is set on three hills.
In the heart of the city is The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, which houses
the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia, is another architectural
treasure, and is famous for hosting the Palio horse race.

Many are the ancient monuments such as the "Duomo" Siena's
cathedral, which is one of the great examples of Italian Romanesque
architecture, "St Maria della Scala", the Sanctuary of Santa
Caterina, incorporating the old house of St. Catherine of Siena. Where
you will find the miraculous Crucifix (late 12th century) from which
the saint received her stigmata, and a 15th century statue of St.
Catherine. |

Siena offers many cultural events, concerts, cinema, theatre and
a wide range of sporting activities.
Few geographical areas in the world can boast of the variety of
environment that surrounds Siena. To the north is the Chianti region
with rolling hills covered in olive groves and the vineyards. formations

This area is probably the most scenic in Italy with towns such
as San Gimignano and Monteriggioni. A short drive will take you
to Montepulciano and Montalcino a little hill top town in the Arbia
valley where the famous Brunello wine is produced.
